In a musical landscape of the 1950s where few women were able to make a mark and the harp wasn’t considered a jazz instrument, Dorothy Ashby blazed a trail as both a female musician and jazz harpist.  In the late 60’s, Alice Coltrane began her solo recording career incorporating harp into her original compositions and spiritual practices.   Join Brandee and Alison to learn about Ashby and Coltrane’s incredible journey, inspiring careers, and lasting legacies.
